How Do You Get to Play for a County Team? Firstly you should be a member of a club which is affiliated to Gloucestershire Badminton and which in turn will affiliate the club with Badminton England. (Details of clubs are listed on this website). If you are not affiliated, contact us and we will arrange your affiliation via "No Strings Badminton"- Pay and Play. You must participate in the Gloucestershire Restricted Tournament which is held in early October each year. (Unless there are valid reasons for not doing so). You must be determined, tenacious, and honoured to represent Gloucestershire. No one is precluded from being selected, it is not age dependant. Players must show fitness, high levels of skill and a determination to earn the honour to represent Gloucestershire at this level. We hold Senior County training sessions throughout the year at Chosen Hill Sports Centre where we like you to attend, but we understand that many of the players are at University and cannot. We are holding Summer Training this year on TUESDAY nights at Chosen Hill Sports Centre, Churchdown 7pm to 9pm where any player who would like to be considered can come and participate. We are hoping the sessions this year will be run by Becky Pantenany ex England International and one of the top coaches in the country. We actively encourage the participation in National Tournaments, such as Orbital's, Satellites, Challenger and Elite events. We believe these events provide the best opportunity to improve the quality of players to play and gain experience of play at high pressure levels.
